Mike Davis, our treasurer and I have had a number of enquires from overseas members regarding donations to the memorial project. You should know that when we were in the process of organising the memorial project, the Memorial Steering Committee(MSC) did discuss the establishment of a credit card/pay pal account. However investigation into the matter, negated our aim because the start up costs and the admin fees on each transaction would have been a heavy and unacceptable cost on our funds.Had we been running an overseas commercial enterprise then credit card/pay pal facilities are an excellent way of collecting foreign exchange. Because our only source of income is donations by ex-boys, who support our cause, and our intention to keep the cost of the project to an absolute minimum, a credit card /pay pal account could not be justified.Father it can be stated that members of the MSC decided from the onset not to submit claims for expenses as we wish all donations should be used solely to construct the memorial. Thus, travel (to MSC meetings) ,postage,stationary, printer inks etc are all provided by MSC members at no cost to the project.

Therefore, to our brethen overseas may I suggest that perhaps the easiest way to make a donation, is to buy a bankers draft/ cheque in GBP(not in your own local currency) and send that along with your donation form to Mike Davis.
