Sgt Assenhiem - instructor in the mid 1940s
Had this forwarded by Keith. I understand he was an instructor for instrument techs of intakes 42 to 49? .........
Dear Mr Evans
I send this e mail to say thankyou for your assistance when my wife and I visited the museum on the last bank holiday Monday.
If you recall, I discussed with you that my father was an instructer at the Arborfield apprentices school from approximately the end of 1944 to some time in 1947, and you said that if I send you some photos and details you may be able to furnish me with some information regarding his time there.
His name, rank and serial number was:
Jerry Geoffrey Assenheim, Sergeant, 14959012
I also know that he spent some time at a holding camp in Mill Hill, did some training at the technical college in Northampton and he also spent time at what I believe was a REME HQ at 'Gopsall Hall' which I gather was in Leicestershire.
Please find attached two photos we have of him in uniform from around that time, taken at his home in North London.
I would of course be prepared to pay for any information, if necessary.
I look forward to hearing from you soon
Kind regards
Richard Assenheim

If anyone has any information or wishes to get in touch with me and I'll forward you on
